Disney Home Entertainment has announced The Muppets for Blu-Ray in March. The latest Muppets film stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and a slew of other actors and actresses in various cameo roles. The James Bobin directed film will be presented in a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack and a special 3 disc edition “Wocka Wocka Value Pack”, which includes the Blu-Ray, DVD and digital copy/soundtrack download.
The Muppets did well theatrically, bringing in $101 million dollars worldwide. It’s not the biggest Disney opener in recent memory, but considering its niche crowd it did fairly well. Our very own Amy Curtis had this to say about the film in her review.
The Muppets brings back the old magic, and I found this installment in the franchise one of the best I’ve seen. It’s updated, but not modernized (a refreshing outcome given the Segel-Stoller partnership and the propensity to “modernize” iconic institutions to death). If you see any movie this holiday break, make it a whimsical visit with the muppets.
The Blu-Ray disc will be presented in 1080p with a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Check out a list of the special features below.
- Commentary with Jason Segel, James Bobin and Nicholas Stoller
