As the release of Justice League Dark draws near, Warner Bros. have grown more generous by strategically dropping clips from the DC animated film. It seems that they’re continuing to play the John Constantine card and understandably so, when you consider they pulled off a major casting coup by getting Matt Ryan to reprise role of the charismatic demonologist from the ill-fated NBC series.
Having first been teased by the core members of the Justice League witnessing unimaginable horror and then by Constantine himself, the latest clip offered is shown without context, but may clue us in as to how Batman got the idea to reach out to the chain-smoking fellow.
In it, we see Bruce Wayne in the midst of shaving (the best a Batman can get?) when he’s then surprised to find “Constantine” scrawled on his mirror and all over his bedroom. Suffice it to say, I think the Dark Knight got the message.
To learn more about the DC animated movie, which seems like it’ll stray from the beaten path, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:
When innocent civilians begin committing unthinkable crimes across Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond, Batman must call upon mystical counterparts to eradicate this demonic threat to the planet. Enter Justice League Dark, reluctantly led by the Hellblazer himself, John Constantine. Like Batman, Constantine is a cunning, often cynical loner who is the best at his chosen profession – but quickly realizes the sinister forces plaguing the planet will require help from other supernatural alliances. Forming a new “league” with sorceress Zatanna, otherworldly Deadman, and Jason Blood and his powerful alter ego Etrigan the Demon, this team of Dark Arts specialists must unravel the mystery of Earth’s supernatural plague and contend with the rising, powerful villainous forces behind the siege – before it’s too late for all of mankind.
Justice League Dark will be made available on Digital HD on January 24, with the Blu-Ray and DVD releases following on February 7.
