Brett Ratner‘s latest film Tower Heist; a comedy/heist film with a rounded cast that includes Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Gabourey Sidibe, Téa Leoni and Michael Peña is scheduled for a Blu-Ray release in February.
The film opened to mixed reviews that ranged from horrible to decent. I thought the film had funny moments and a decent heist plot to it, but it wasn’t all that memorable.
Tower Heist may perhaps most be remembered for the film that was going to close the gap between theater and home video release. Universal Studios initially planned on releasing the film in certain markets via the VOD format three weeks after its theatrical opening for the price of $59.99, but after the theater chains threatened to not promote the studios other films Universal backed out.
The Blu-Ray disc will come in a combo pack format with a Blu-Ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy. It will be presented with a 1080p video transfer and a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Here’s a list of the confirmed extras.
