The star of the latest Ant-Man, Jonathan Majors was recently arrested following allegations that he assaulted a woman in New York City, which has understandably sent social media into a frenzy of controversy as further details emerge.
As previously reported, Majors has been said to have strangled a woman who was riding with him while he was on his phone. When she tried to take a glance at what he was doing, he allegedly got upset and put his hands around her throat. Reports indicate that she was dropped off and he went on to spend the night elsewhere. Further accounts also allege that Majors slapped the woman.
Unfortunately, any time a celebrity is involved in a situation with domestic violence, the social media narrative tends to follow a traditional course, with many rushing to defend the accused while others criticize them for immediately defending someone without knowing the facts.
In the case of Majors, some Twitter users found it ironic that the very people who recently criticized Majors for not being masculine enough would be ready to defend him now.
