Lindsay Lohan has now become a mother, and now many of us are feeling old. In all seriousness though, congratulations are in order for the Mean Girls actress and her husband Bader Shammas on the new addition to their family.
The couple welcomed their new son to the world in Dubai and named him Luai, which in Arabic means “strong” and “steady.” The exact time and date of the child’s birth are not currently known. A rep for the actress told People:
“Lindsay Lohan and her Financier husband, Bader Shammas, welcomed a beautiful, healthy son named Luai. The family is over the moon in love…”
This is Lohan’s first child and she surprised us back in March with the announcement of her pregnancy by way of a post on social media that showcased a tiny baby onesie with the words “coming soon” written on it.
Lohan and Shammas announced their engagement back in 2021 after keeping their relationship fairly private. It was so private in fact, that they managed to keep their marriage a secret for a few months, with the first report of its occurrence coming out in July 2022, only for the couple to celebrate their one-year anniversary on April 3, 2023. The couple are believed to have been together for two years prior to their engagement.
In an interview with Allure last month, the actress opened up about her thoughts on becoming a mother, stating, “I can’t wait to see what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom,” adding the whole experience had been “overwhelming, in a good way.” She already has some industry friends to help her along the way though.
Now little Luai is here, and according to Lindsay’s mother, Dina Lohan, “It’s the right time for her and Bader is an angel. Her husband is so sweet and they’re just so happy. They’re just really happy and ready.”
All the felicitations to Lohan and her new family member! Now we have to forget that the little girl we watched in The Parent Trap is a mom.
