There is nothing that Mads Mikkelsen can’t do, and that is proved by the sheer number of franchises the Danish actor has been in. He’s had a prominent career – particularly playing villains – and he’s at it again in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

In the blockbuster sequel, Mikkelsen will be playing a villainous character he was quite excited to take on, that of a Nazi. Well-known for his villainy due to his steely gaze, a voice that is gentle yet holds a promise of threat, and his sharp features, or perhaps a combo of all three. Whatever it is, it works, and that is exactly why he will be playing the baddie in Dial of Destiny.

Speaking to ComicBook, the star said how he was very up for playing one of the more notorious on-screen bad guys tropes, the Nazi. “My first Nazi. It was due,” the actor joked.

“No, I mean, it’s wrapping up this franchise, it’s wrapping up the beautiful journey of Harrison and Indiana Jones, and the script was just so beautiful and so touching, so that helped a lot. But he could have said, ‘Indiana Jones, Nazi,’ and I would’ve said, ‘Yes.'”

Given that he has worked in so many franchises which include some of the biggest on earth such as James Bond, Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his role in the Wizarding World in Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore, we wonder if he has his sights set on any others.

“No, not really. We talked about it. I mean, there are genres I haven’t touched upon and I do love zombie films. I would love to be in a zombie film, but not the ones where they’re really fast. They’ve got to be slow … You have to be able to outrun them. I don’t like the other ones.”

So, we can’t expect him in any Danny Boyle zombie thriller anytime soon then. Though he may have no intention right now of joining another franchise, it can’t be ruled out. Mikkelsen is an incredibly hard-working and consistent actor appearing in at least two projects every year.

You can catch Mikkelsen as Jürgen Voller when he attempts to lay claim to the mysterious Antikythera dial in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which swings into theaters on June 30.
