As previously reported, Never Have I Ever follows Devi Vishwakumar, an Indian-American teenager who navigates through life and high school after her father tragically passes away. In the hit series, which is reportedly loosely based on comedian Mindy Kaling’s childhood experiences, Ramakrishnan portrays the role of Devi Vishwakumar.

Throughout the past three seasons of Never Have I Ever, Vishwakumar has been in a love triangle between the two fictional characters, Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet). This would change in the season three finale, when Vishwakumar seemingly decided to lose her virginity to Gross.

With the premiere of Never Have I Ever‘s final season on Netflix on June 8, viewers will get to witness the aftermath of Vishwakumar’s decision if she went through with it, and the person she would end up with once and for all, which could cause frenzy among many. On the day of the show’s release, Ramakrishnan took to her official Twitter account to advise fans to be kind to “each other” by retweeting an old post that read,

“also side note, be nice to each other regardless of who likes what ship. they’re just fictional characters y’all so play nice. love you all so [please] just be kind.”

The reason surrounding the 21-year-old’s upload is because she wants to remind everyone that may not agree with her character’s decision to refrain from spewing hate online. In the tweet, Ramakrishnan informed her fans that it is okay to “be passionate” about the show “but always be kind.” She said,

“last tweet for now but just a gentle reminder again. be passionate but always be kind.”

As Ramakrishnan’s post began circulating online, many had a few words for the star regarding her  Never Have I Ever character and the tweet.

One individual claimed that fans go so hard for Ramakrishnan’s character and her relationships because they want the best for her.

At the same time, another Twitter user echoed a similar sentiment and stated that all they want is for Ramakrishnan’s character to be happy.

In addition to the previous remarks, a third person went as far as to praise Ramakrishnan for shedding light on what could have been a terrible situation for her fans if they disagreed with her character’s decision.

The fourth and final season of Never Have I Ever is now streaming on Netflix.
