The winding saga of the missing Jackass star Bam Margera took another twist on Thursday as the troubled star turned himself in to authorities and appeared in court to answer assault charges, just days after a warrant was issued to arrest him.
Margera was reportedly on the run from police after someone reported a disturbance in Pocopson Township, where Margera reportedly got into an altercation with his brother Jess. After the fight, Margera allegedly ran into the woods.
The star was fingerprinted and photographed before being arraigned inside of a Chester County, Pennsylvania courtroom – per local reports. He was released on a supervised bail of $50,000 and pleaded not guilty. The affidavit of probable cause for his arrest provided a few new details on the incident.
Margera punched and kicked at his brother’s door at 8 a.m. on the day of the incident. When his brother finally left his room he found a note signed “Bam” that said, “If you ever (expletive) think of calling the police on me I will officially (expletive) you up.”
The brother found Margera in the kitchen, where he started “screaming” and being very “aggressive.” Margera’s brother said he was punched in the head and grabbed. That’s when Margera got even more aggressive. He yelled “I’ll kill you. I’ll put a bullet in your head,” and then threatened everyone else in the house.
Margera faces charges of assault and making terroristic threats. As a condition of his release, he can’t leave the state or contact his brother. He can’t return home to where the fight happened, either.
In addition, he has to complete a drug and alcohol evaluation and stick to a treatment plan. Margera’s next court date is May 25. We’ll keep you posted on any developments.
