Whether it is the concerning spike in the number of shootings taking place in America or the fact that the U.S. hit its debt ceiling, leading to a debt-ceiling crisis, supporters of the newly indicted ex-president Donald Trump always have one direction they like to point toward — Joe Biden. But when U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy decided to tick this box in his daily checklist, Stephen King — the official Trump-basher — came forward to pummel his baseless rant with a question and an answer.
In simple terms, a debt ceiling is a set amount of money the government can borrow to run the country, and this budget is approved by Congress. Early in January 2023, the U.S. hit this debt ceiling, pushing the Treasury Department to rely on “extraordinary measures.” If the limit is not increased by June, this might lead to the country defaulting on its debt, which will not only jeopardize the U.S. economy but also seriously harm the world economy.
While this is an issue that has been years in the making, McCarthy being the avid follower of “forgetting what Trump did” jumped to yell about how Biden and his administration are responsible for the “skyrocketing inflation.” But no worries, King also didn’t waste a second to remind him of exactly what his poor memory forgot to add.
The Carrie author has been having a field day blasting Trump supporters left, right, and center as before giving McCarthy a chance to feel what being “stunned into silence” means, he had set his phasers on Dan Bongino, the former Fox News host, who has already burned his tongue trying to mock King a few days ago. Even though Bongino has kept his distance from the author, it is evident being anti-logic is all it takes to attract the ire of King.
Expecting either of the two to respond with a coherent answer backed by a sensible reason would be exceeding expectations here. So, we better hinge on what is possible — more of these rants being knocked out of the park by Stephen King.
