As social media placed its bets on who would leave the fashion mogul with the best possible fit, the moments leading up to the biggest fashion event in the industry were nerve-wracking, to say the least. Nonetheless, as the Met Gala finally received the attendees at its structure in New York City, all the speculation went out the window as the stars showcased their monumental looks. Despite no one leaving victorious from such an event, the internet relentlessly voted for the Met Gala’s best looks, fiercely debating all options.
Unsurprisingly, Dua Lipa’s jaw-dropping 100-carat diamond necklace made its way into everyone’s favorite looks. The British-Armenian singer wore a white and black tweed ballgown from Chanel, immediately garnering attention for her simple yet stunning delivery of the gown. Taika Waititi recaptured the heart of netizens with his long, dusty blue jacket, breaking the boring tux norm so often seen around the gala. Brian Tyree Henry, Bad Bunny, and Harvey Guillen also received high praise for their nonconforming and captivating looks, perfectly showcasing the opulence needed for this event.
From K-Pop to Hip Hop and R&B, all the music spheres were pleasantly represented at the Met Gala, with some of the biggest names in the musical industry attending the event, proving that fashion goes well beyond any barrier. The question remains as to who the best-dressed musician might be, but some of the guesses include BLACKPINK’s Jennie, GOT7’s Jackson Wang, Cardi B, and even Doja Cat’s bold cat look.
Regardless of their area of expertise, celebrities left no crumbs behind during this year’s theme, even if the debate was practically inevitable. All in all, no one seems to have won the Fashion Hunger Games, but clearly, the race was very close – well, except for a very clear loser.
