Lindsay Lohan is a mother now. Yes, you heard it right. The 36-year-old actress gave birth to a baby boy in Dubai with her husband, Bader Shammas. A representative closer to the couple announced this news to People on Monday, saying that the family is happy and “over the moon in love.”
Lohan was quite creative in announcing her engagement. The Mean Girls star took to Instagram in March and shared a photo of a baby onesie captioning the picture by writing, “Coming soon…” adding that they were both “blessed and excited” about the news. The happy new parents named their bundle of joy Luai, which in Arabic means, ‘shield or protector.’
Lohan kept her fans updated about her feelings about the long and challenging journey on her way to motherhood. She opened up to Allure about her longing to be a mother as well as how she felt elated by the prospect of receiving support and encouragement from her celebrity cohorts, one of whom is Jamie Lee Curtis:
“I can’t wait to see what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom. Happy tears. That’s just who I am. Though now, it’s probably baby emotion. It’s overwhelming in a good way.
I spoke to Jamie Lee Curtis recently, and she was like, ‘You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine.”
While the couple is currently at the zenith of bliss, the Freaky Friday star’s mother had quite a lot to add about her daughter’s love for children and how she and her husband who have been eagerly waiting for this occasion are going to be the perfect parents. Speaking to People on the subject, she said:
“Lindsay has always loved kids because I love kids and my mother loves kids; I’m one of four. We have a big family, so she’s always wanted children. And she’s so maternal. Isabelle, her niece, just runs to her when she sees her. She’s been trying and then it happened, that little stick came up positive. It’s the right time for her and Bader is an angel. Her husband is so sweet and they’re just so happy. They’re just really happy and ready.”
In short, the couple is happy and excited to begin their new journey and we wish them all the best for the future.
