Longmont, Colorado native Kristen Schaal is best known for lending her voice to Bob’s Burgers‘ Louise Belcher and Gravity Falls‘ Mabel Pines, but her career extends way beyond that.
Schaal is a stand-up comedian, as well as an actress and voice actress. She’s appeared on dozens of television shows and films, including The Last Man on Earth as Carol, What We Do in the Shadows as The Guide, as a correspondent on The Daily Show from 2008 to 2016, as Kenneth’s girlfriend Hazel on 30 Rock‘s seventh season, and many others. Her one-episode stints on shows as popular as Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, Glee or Modern Family made hers one of those faces you become very used to just seeing around.
On the silver screen, Schaal’s biggest performances came from voice roles in Toy Story 3 and 4 where she voiced Trixie, and Despicable Me 2 where she voiced Shannon. Still, the hilarious actress is a recurring presence in comedy films like 2010’s Dinner for Schmucks with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, 2013’s Welcome to the Jungle, and 2017’s All Nighter.
Her voice acting has earned Schaal a number of awards including two Annie Awards. In 2017, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for her voice-over performance in Bojack Horseman where she played Sarah Lynn.
