Disappointed about the lack of Battleborn info coming out of E3? Fear not, for Gearbox Software has published the extensive, 20-minute gameplay demo for the company’s new IP, drawing attention to the character profiles, ludicrous action and, perhaps more so than anything else, the joyous sense of humor.
Fans of the studio will immediately recognize the Borderlands heritage in the clip – both stylistically and that refreshing sense of fun – and if you’re pressed for time, the action kicks off in and around the 4:15 mark. In this instance, Gearbox walks us through a PvP and PvE match on an alien planet called Bliss, skating between the towering, snow covered mountains in order to locate an old Peacekeeper base.
[zerggaming]Part and parcel of Battleborn‘s charm, though, is the distinctive character classes, with each in-game persona bringing something truly different to the table. For a studio so well versed in the Borderlands wheelhouse, these playable rogues are typically stylish, and it’s understood there is plenty more gameplay details and multiplayer modes yet to be revealed.
At the time of writing, Gearbox has tentatively slated Battleborn for a release in the latter stages of 2015, which positions it close to the launch of Blizzard’s like-minded shooter, Overwatch. Gearbox’s new IP will land on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
From the creators of Borderlands comes a new first-person shooter For Every Kind of Badass. This is a story mission people experienced when they played Battleborn at E3. The gameplay demo follows a team of five heroes on the planet Bliss as they infiltrate an old Peacekeeper base and attempt to close a portal that’s allowing the evil Varelsi to enter the Solus system. This gameplay demonstration is one part of a larger chapter in Battleborn’s story mode, which can be played by up-to five people co-operatively or solo.
