That’s according to a mysterious teaser that appeared in Black Ops 2 following a recent patch. As spotted by YouTube user Drift0r, the sequel now contains several QR codes plastered on in-game billboards that link fans to the franchise’s Snapchat account. Follow the breadcrumbs to there and you’ll soon find an obscure ten second clip that includes footage of a desolate woodland area, narrated by a sombre man who states “listen only to the sound of my voice.”

Due to the new-fangled, three-year development cycle under the publisher, it will be Treyarch taking the reins from Sledgehammer Games for this year’s Call of Duty release. Speculation was divided between whether the studio would return to World War II or, on the other hand, revisit the Black Ops sub-franchise come November, and after today’s tantalizing tidbit, it appears as though the latter is now much more likely.

Over the past few years, Activision has lifted the curtain on Call of Duty in late April or May, before opening Microsoft’s E3 press conference with a debut of the shooter’s single-player campaign.
