A listing on the Xbox Games Store for Sega’s unannounced Alien game, Alien: Isolation, has seemingly confirmed the existence of the title and revealed the first semi-official details.

Confirming rumors from last October, the Alien: Isolation listing notes that players will take on the role of Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, in a “survival horror” atmosphere set fifteen years after the original Alien film.

The game’s full description reads as follows:

“Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother’s disappearance. As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.”

Aside from the plot description, the Xbox Games Store also confirms that Creative Assembly is developing the Sega published game for a split-gen release on the Xbox 360, Xbox One and (presumably) the PS3 and PS4. The listing also notes that there will be additional “content downloads” and online leaderboards for the “Action & Adventure, Shooter.”

Finally, the Alien: Isolation listing also contains a set of five images, four of which match the rumored screenshots that were leaked on Twitter last month. The new screen that we have not seen before is the picture of the Xenomorph up above.

With Alien: Isolation basically confirmed at this point, it should not be much longer before Sega is ready to announce the game. As soon as the publisher makes it official we will let you know.

[Update]

Sega has officially announced that Alien: Isolation will launch for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC in “late 2014.” The publisher has also provided the game’s announcement trailer and screenshots (embedded below), and the following plot synopsis:

“When she left Earth, Ellen Ripley promised her daughter Amanda she would return home for her 11th birthday. Amanda never saw her again.”

“Fifteen years later, Amanda, now a Weyland-Yutani employee, hears that the flight recorder of her mother’s ship, the Nostromo, has been recovered at the remote trading station Sevastopol. The temptation for her to finally understand what happened is too much to resist. When the crew arrive at Sevastopol, they find something is desperately wrong. It all seems to be connected to an unknown menace, stalking and killing deep in the shadows.”

“In order to uncover the truth about her mother, Amanda is forced to confront the same terrifying thing that separated them.”
