Rovio’s intergalactic smash-hit (and irritatingly-addictive) Angry Birds: Star Wars is expanding its already considerable reach with the announcement today that it will soon be available for play on multiple current-gen consoles — and possibly the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The North American ratings board, ESRB, recently posted a listing for the wildly-popular Star Wars edition of Angry Birds, revealing that both a PS4 and Xbox One version have been rated.

Angry Birds fans in Brazil were already privy to this news, as a classification for both systems in that country was determined this past summer. Further stoking the speculation fire about a next-gen Angry Birds: Star Wars game is the fact that industry giant GameFly listed both versions last August.

Reps for Activision (the custodians of the Angry Birds empire) remained customarily tight-lipped and were unavailable for comment. According to their press release though:

“Angry Birds: Star Wars, is expected to release on console gaming systems for the first time October 29, 2013. Complete with new levels, features and platform-unique design elements, these new editions will be available for the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo’s Wii and Wii U systems and Nintendo 3DS hand-held system.”

Exciting news for fans of the easily-agitated video avians.
