During today’s EA Play event, Electronic Arts officially pulled the curtain back on Anthem, the latest effort from BioWare. The original IP was teased all way the back at E3 2014, and is the studio’s first new property since the release of Dragon Age: Origins in 2009.
Not much is known about Anthem at the moment, but the brief teaser trailer above offers an enticing first look. We get a glimpse at a massive monster, the wall that separates said creature from civilians and what appears to be a mech-suit that players will likely get to wear. Think Titanfall-style suits, just on a smaller scale.
As for what we do know about Anthem, there’s not much to talk about right now. The last time it was discussed was back when it was going by the codename Dylan, and that was only to reveal that it wouldn’t be releasing before March 2018. We can also tell you that it’s an RPG-style adventure, most likely in the style of Bungie’s popular Destiny.
While this brief footage may not have showcased much, we won’t have to wait long to find out more about Anthem. The game will make a more formal debut at Microsoft’s E3 2017 press conference tomorrow afternoon. Theoretically, the title will be showcased using the power of the highly anticipated Xbox Scorpio, and could be a major focus of the presentation.
Anthem is currently without a firm release date, but it’ll be launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
