Earlier this week, the National Football League’s 2012-2013 season kicked off, and Ubisoft took full advantage of that fact by paying loads of money so that its Assassin’s Creed III TV spot would be aired during breaks in the sporting action.
Mixing Revolutionary America with modern day hip-hop music, the commercial does a good job of piquing one’s interest. However, its main selling point would have to be its great-looking gameplay footage – a lot of which we hadn’t seen before.
If there’s one other thing that this ad made me think about, however, it’d have to be the Toronto Blue Jays, who used the exact same song in one of their early season television spots. Then again, thinking about how poorly their season has turned out makes me sad, while reminding myself that Assassin’s Creed III has the opposite effect.
Assassin’s Creed III will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 30. A PC release will follow within a month, and a Wii U release is also planned.
