Meet Jacob and Evie Frye; twin siblings and leading protagonists of Ubisoft Quebec’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate who are primed to take Victorian London by storm.
But placing the master assassins on the sidelines for the time being, today’s new trailer for the upcoming stealthy sequel is all about the setting itself, delving into the creation of the English capital. From the Tower of London to the grimy streets of Westminster, this new sizzle reel leaves no cobble unturned as it sets out to introduce fans and newcomers alike to Syndicate‘s sprawling open-world setting.
[zerggaming]Ditching the four-player co-op mechanic found in last year’s Unity, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is gunning for something radically different with its dual protagonist set-up. As we alluded to earlier, that feature is built around the Frye twins, and each sibling boasts a vastly different roster of abilites than their other half, which will naturally encourage players to experiment with their chosen playstyle.
From the trailers released thus far, Ubisoft has trumpeted Jacob’s burly, no-nonsense fighting style, while his sister Evie is more of a traditional sleuth, opting for stealthy takedowns as opposed to a shotgun in the face. Whatever happened to the deft art of subtlety?
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will hope to rebuild the bridges torn down by the botched Unity when Ubisoft Quebec’s Victorian adventure slinks onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 23.
