Should the technical problems subsist after the release of the imminent PC patch, Green Man Gaming has confirmed that it will offer refunds to those players who picked up Batman: Arkham Knight on PC.
Early adopters of Rocksteady’s hotly-anticipated threequel first began reporting problems yesterday, with the vast majority of players encountering difficulties – framerate drops, sporadic freezing and the like – when trying to run Arkham Knight using AMD graphics cards. Warner Bros. Interactive has since stated that an update is imminent, and offered the following statement via PlayFire.
“Warner Bros are currently working on a patch which we are hoping will be released soon. We’re talking to Warner Bros who are resolved to address these concerns. We want you to enjoy your game, but if after the fix has been released, you still cannot play your game, we will process refund requests for the game.”
Fuel was only added to the fire yesterday after a report claimed that the PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight was outsourced to porting studio Iron Galaxy – for the sake of perspective, the credits indicate that this was handled by a team of 12 people. Mainline developer Rocksteady has offered a response to say that “we are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible.” However, the company didn’t lock down a timeline or exact date of when the fix will be made available.
It’s a shame, really, considering how well-received Batman: Arkham Knight proved to be across consoles. Rocksteady’s rendition of Gotham is a technical showcase, and it’s disappointing to note that the threequel will likely go down as yet another triple-A release to launch headfirst into an array of technical issues.
Batman: Arkham Knight is available now across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned to We Got This Covered over the coming days when we’ll have our own review for you enjoy.
