They Shall Not Pass, the first of four mainline expansion packs for Battlefield 1, has nailed down a release date along with a suitably epic new trailer.
Premium members will gain access to They Shall Not Pass on March 14th, before the DLC opens up for all users on March 28th. As is often the case, the add-on bundles together four maps situated on the Western Front – namely, Verdun Heights, Fort Vaux, Soissons and Rupture – where the “fearless French army joins the fight in a brutal defense of their homeland.”
Beyond that, Battlefield 1 players can look forward to new operations, new weapons, a new steel Behemoth, along with a new Elite Class known as Trench Raider, the details of which can be found over on EA’s detailed blog. Finally, They Shall Not Pass introduces the Frontlines game mode, which is described as an amalgamation of Conquest and Rush.
Here’s a rundown of what to expect when it comes to the latter new feature:
Experience a mix of Conquest and Rush as you fight for chained control points in a tug-of-war frontline. Both teams fight for one flag at a time and when this objective is captured the action moves on to the next. Capture the enemy’s HQ control point and the game turns into a Rush-style section where telegraph posts need to be attacked or defended.
It’s official: Battlefield 1‘s They Shall Not Pass expansion pack launches for Premium members on March 14th. All users will then gain access to the add-on from March 28th onwards. It’s angled as the first of four expansions, and will be followed by In the Name of the Tsar, Turning Tides and Apocalypse throughout the course of 2017.
If you’re curious to see what all the fuss is about, EA is hosting a Battlefield 1 trial on Xbox One and PC this coming weekend, with the action poised to kick off from tomorrow, March 3rd.
