Behold The Beauty Of The Super Mario Galaxy Stage In Super Smash Bros.

While it will likely be several more years before we get a proper Super Mario Galaxy game on the Wii U, Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has announced that we won't have to wait nearly that long to see just how beautiful Galaxy planets will look like in HD.

While it will likely be several more years before we get a proper Super Mario Galaxy game on the Wii U, Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has announced that we won’t have to wait nearly that long to see just how beautiful Galaxy planets will look like in HD.

In a recent Miiverse post, Sakurai revealed that the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii U will have a level based on Mario Galaxy. The message reads in part:

“…A new stage, Mario Galaxy!! The pull of gravity emanates from the center of the planet, so this will require using brand-new tactics.”

Unfortunately, Sakurai did not reveal any another other details about the Mario Galaxy stage in Super Smash Bros., so we have no idea whether or not the game will do the right thing and let us annoy our opponents by doing nothing but running circles around the planet.

It is also unclear if the Galaxy stage is unique to the Wii U, or if something similar is being planned for the 3DS version (which could look fairly impressive on the small 3D screen).

We will keep an eye out for the next bit of Super Smash Bros. news to find its way out Nintendo vault, and let you know as soon as it does.
