Thank the heavens, because Borderlands is coming back this October, with what is likely to be its craziest and most intense instalment so far: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. It’s a game that millions have been pining for, including yours truly, and it’s something that we got a chance to go hands-on with today at 2K’s E3 2014 booth. Now, we can tell you all about how incredibly awesome it truly is.
The available demo was set-up in co-op fashion, allowing myself and my good friend/fellow WGTC writer Chaz Neeler to team up and double-team moon beings with lead and other badass projectiles. I can’t tell you exactly what part of the game the demo was from, but it allowed us to start off at level 26, so it definitely wasn’t early on. All I do know is that we were on the moon, trying to divert some gas lines and fuck the enemy conglomerate’s shit up. And, that’s something we did with vigor.
As expected, this intense Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel demo allowed us to experience what effect oxygen reliance will soon have on the core experience. Thankfully, though, it proved to be far less annoying than originally feared, and actually felt natural. It does force you to go over to pumps and refill your supply from time to time, but the fact that it’s not a prevalent occurrence makes that okay. Plus, the zero gravity jumps and boost platforms that they’ve introduced help make everything worthwhile.
