While Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4, it can only be configured as such with the help of a patch. In a statement to Joystiq, Activision revealed that the PS4 version includes a “configuration issue,” which limits the campaign mode to upscaled 720p rather than native 1080p.
Check out their statement below:
Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4. There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p.
For those who choose not to download the update (though I don’t see why you wouldn’t), the campaign will only run in the upscaled 720p. And of course, as we previously reported, the Xbox One version of the game will be locked at 720p, unfortunately.
