If you had polled me prior to E3 and asked me what one game I was hoping for most, I would have said Fallout 4. I had been hoping and praying for a sequel to Fallout 3 — my favourite game of last-generation — and that dream finally came true this year.

Fallout 4 is another epic, large-scale and incredibly deep RPG from Bethesda. It may be more of the same in a lot of ways, but that’s not something I mind given how much I loved Fallout 3. It’s also a game that I will continue to play well into 2016, and not only because DLC is incoming.

Unfortunately, Fallout 4‘s ending was spoiled for me, and I didn’t end up being a fan of its colony creation mechanic. However, the latter doesn’t keep me from being a big fan and recommending it to anyone with even a passing interest in the genre.
