A new E3 2013 trailer shows off how players will be exploring an expanded path to achieving diplomatic victory by becoming a world leader in Civilization V: Brave New World.
In Civilization V: Brave New World players will be able to change the diplomatic landscape by voting and proposing on trade sanctions with rogue nations, limiting nuclear weapon use, or collaborating with other nations to construct a project like the International Space Station.
Of course, like all good strategy games you will have to work hard in order to gain the ability to vote on these diplomatic resolutions. Voting requires that you gain delegates. These can be achieved through religion, city-state alliances, or even by acting as host of the World Congress. Additionally, delegates are part of diplomacy which allows their support to be negotiated and traded for.
Once a certain era is reached, every civilization will take part in the election for world leader in the World Congress. I’d say that you better start developing your cunning plan of manipulation and wits now in order to gain as many delegates as possible. But, that’s just me.
