Dead Rising 3: Operation Broken Eagle DLC Delayed Until Late January

In an effort to ensure quality, Capcom and its Vancouver-based development division have decided to delay Operation Broken Eagle, the first planned downloadable expansion for Xbox One hit Dead Rising 3. This means that, instead of releasing digitally on Christmas Eve, the add-on will now enlist into action on January 21. As a result, us zombie-killers will have to wait a whole month before we can expand upon one of the year's best games.

As a result, us zombie-killers will have to wait a whole month before we can expand upon one of the year’s best games.

A statement has been released by Capcom, and it explains the delay:

“Adding new content to the massive open world of Los Perdidos is a major undertaking, and to ensure we provide the best possible experience for players, we are putting a few additional weeks of polish and testing into the episode before it’s released.”

The above-mentioned statement then goes on to ask us to, “Stay tuned for updates.” However, who knows what that means, considering a new release date has already been set. Perhaps they mean to infer that said updates will regard the game’s other confirmed add-ons, which are also expected to release through digital means within 2014.

Like Capcom, we’ll keep you updated, so make sure to stick with us for more Dead Rising 3 news as it exits the proverbial pipeline. For now, though, simply enjoy spending time with Nick Ramos.
