Rising Star Games announced today that their critically acclaimed/panned suspense-horror title Deadly Premonition will finally be released for the PlayStation 3 in the US and Europe during the first quarter of 2013, as a “director’s cut” edition.

For those that missed out on the “love it or hate it” title when it was released for the Xbox 360 in 2010, Deadly Premonition has players take control of Francis York Morgan as he investigates the murder of young woman in a small American town. To solve the Red Seed Murders, York must take on supernatural creatures, a cup of coffee, and the killer during the course of his investigation.

For the PlayStation 3 release Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut has been updated with HD visuals and has a reworked control system that improves combat. It also includes a new scenario from the game’s director Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro, and will have future downloadable content to extend the adventure.

A price point for Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut was not announced, however, Rising Star Games promised that more information will be announced in the coming months.
