Larian Studios released their 22nd video update for Divinity: Original Sin today as they continue to build towards their game’s sequel. While they did speak about the progress of Divinity: Original Sin 2 in the video, they opened their update with some exciting news about the first instalment.
With VR gaming said to be the future of the industry as we know it, the folks at Larian Studios started to consider what that would mean for their existing game. As a result, they have added an in-game VR mode to the PC version of Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition, and you won’t need a VR headset to experience it.
If you own the Enhanced Edition, you’ll simply need to update your game to its latest version. From there, find the secret hidden by the developers and grab your own Rift Oglers from underneath an abandoned crate. The video update – which you can see at the top of the page – explains where to find this.
Along with news of the headset-free VR mode, the new update also shared details about the PvP combat system coming to Divinity: Original Sin 2. The developers talk about how new factors like height will impact combat effectiveness in the video, and confirm that they’ll be trialling the system with PvP testing at PAX East this year. If you’ll be in attendance you can try the new systems out, and there’ll be prizes for competitors and anyone who mentions the new VR mode at the booth, so don’t forget to grab some loot!
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition is available now, and the sequel is currently in development for a December 2016 release.
