Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has long made it known that fans can take control of four eccentric characters — in classic Borderlands style, of course — but according to a file uncovered in the PC beta build, it appears as though a fifth playable character is on her way to join the bombastic action aboard Pandora’s moon, Elpis.
The image, which was published through the Se7ensins forum by a user known as TechnoJacker, showcases the character of Aurelia. With some technical know-how, PC users can reportedly get the opportunity to play as the Baroness ahead of time.
“The files and data for her is included in the next Borderlands Pre-Sequel update which is available on Steam if you subscribe to the beta channel. While hidden until you purchase the DLC, it’s possible to force the game to play as her with some tinkering.”
Alas, there is no official details pertaining to Aurelia at this time, with 2K and Gearbox Software remaining tight-lipped for the time being. We understand that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel features a season pass (priced at $30) with the developing studio planning to release four DLC packs through time, so it seems likely that this leak is, in fact, genuine.
Besides, Borderlands 2 was supported in the months and even years after release with a hoard of additional content, so don’t be too surprised if we see the aforementioned Baroness become available as an optional character in the coming weeks.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is available now for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Tell us, do you think Aurelia of Baroness will weave her way into the game as the fifth playable character? Let us know below.
