Difficulty level depending, players will find that the single-player campaign included in id Software’s DOOM reboot will clock in at around 13 hours in length.

Word comes by way of the game’s official Twitter account, noting that those who play through the story missions on the harder difficulties will naturally find the campaign to be longer.

That’s a meaty and sizeable chunk for a first-person shooter, and appears more in line with MachineGames’ Wolfenstein: The New Order – also published by Bethesda – than your standard run-of-the-mill fare. What separates DOOM from The New Order, though, is its multiplayer component, and a recent closed alpha test allowed those players on either PS4, Xbox One and PC to jump into an early build and put the shooter through its paces – technical glitches and all.

id Software and Bethesda will raise hell when DOOM makes a beeline for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 13. There’s a Collector’s Set available for those who wish to pre-order the nightmarish reboot, and it even features a model of the gun-toting and demonic Revenant.
