After giving it a proper reveal at gamescom, Techland is back with its premiere trailer for Dying Light: The Following.
Set in a new environment — which has been referred to as Harran’s outback — The Following is a story-based expansion that will provide players with the freedom of choice, as well as customizable and upgradeable dirt buggies. Said vehicles are advertised as the game’s most deadly weapon yet, and for good reason. They’ll also have their own skill upgrade tree, which should make for some badass death-dealers.
Going further, it’s also said that players will find themselves in this open outback as part of the search for “hazardous and fanatical cultists,” whose ideals have something to do with the zombie outbreak. Perhaps that means that we’ll find the root of the infection.
“Gamescom 2015 was our first chance to let people play Dying Light: The Following so I was a bit nervous – admits producer Tymon Smektała. But so many positive reactions really showed me we made the right decision to work on this expansion. With its new map and far-reaching gameplay additions, it feels like we’ve hit the sweet spot for what players are expecting from us.”
In addition to unleashing this new trailer upon the Internet, the developers have also confirmed their pricing plans for Dying Light: The Following. The gist is that, those who own the game’s season pass will receive this add-on at no cost whatsoever, whereas others will have to purchase it separately for $14.99. When, exactly, is currently unknown.
