Techland and Warner Bros. Interactive have released a new tech video that showcases the beauty of the upcoming Dying Light. The zombie apocalypse themed title is currently set for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

While there is little zombie action to be seen, the video does a spectacular job of showing off the graphical power of the next-gen consoles. Using their in-house Chrome Engine 6 development tool, Techland has produced beautiful visuals that showcase impressive lighting and scenery. In addition to showing off the title’s graphical capabilities, the video also gives gamers their first glimpse at the Old Town setting, which is one of many settings you will explore in the game.
Even though I was not the biggest fan of Techland’s Dead Island series, I’m cautiously optimistic about Dying Light. If the developer can fix all the problems that plagued its previous series and achieve the same consistent visual quality of this video, then the co-op zombie shooter may be one of the more promising titles to come out in the early lifespans of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
We will continue to have coverage of Dying Light as we move closer to its 2014 release date but for now, tell us, did this tech demo help sell anyone on the potential of the title? Let us know in the comments section below.
