A large, Eastern-themed expansion is headed to Minecraft: Console Edition in October, bringing with it a brand new pre-made world as well as new skins, music and items all centred around Chinese Mythology.
The so-called Chinese Mythology Mash-Up pack will be available for all console editions of the sandbox adventure on October 4 for $4.99 and includes a suitably themed ancient city full to the brim with oriental buildings, cherry blossom trees and even the Great Wall of China for players to explore at their leisure.
Of course, as is the setting, expect to see the likes of Chinese dragons on your travels, as well as huge statues of the Giant Panda and even spiritual monasteries for you to peacefully “contemplate on your crafting.” As well as making 41 new skins and 13 themed music tracks available for your own meticulously crafted landscapes, the new mash-up pack will include a new map for Minecraft‘s Battle mode, introduced earlier this year.
Coinciding with the release of the above, a free game update will be rolled out for all Console Edition owners that introduces several new features, including new mobs, items and terrain assets, including Arctic biomes and buried fossils.
