The Evil Within and its horrific sights and sounds will be unleashed earlier than planned, according to a post on Bethesda’s website.
For some reason, the decision was made to bump the previously delayed survival horror game’s release up a week, making its new North American launch date October 14. Australian gamers will have to wait a couple of days, before being able to get their hands on it on the 16th, while all of Europe won’t be able to face its fears until the day of the 18th.
Having moved away from Evolve, Fantasia: Music Evolved and Battlefield: Hardline — all of which are still expected to launch on October 21 — The Evil Within now finds itself in competition with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! On top of that, its new launch date also happens to be exactly one week from the busiest day of the fall season, that being October 7, when the likes of Alien: Isolation, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor are scheduled to release. That, alone, will make things tough.
