More than half a million players have now experienced the heartfelt story of Henry and Delilah, after developer Campo Santo confirmed that visually stunning adventure game Firewatch has broke past 500,000 copies sold in little over a month.

Those figures factor in sales across both PlayStation 4 and PC, with the developer noting that initial investment on development was recouped “in about one day.”

Reflecting on the marked success, Campo Santo posted via its official blog, where it was also revealed that Firewatch went on to become the top digital download on PlayStation Store for the month of February. That’s quite the feat, too, considering that it fended off competition from Far Cry Primal and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.

Per Campo:

“Firewatch’s budget, while huge for us, was modest for a game of its quality and scope, but we made our investment back in about one day. It was even the top PlayStation Store digital download in February! As an indie game, or heck, even as a ‘real’ game, ok fine but not as a Call of Duty or Star Wars game, Firewatch can be considered a sales success. We’re so grateful. And relieved. But mostly grateful.”

Firewatch launched across PS4 and PC late last month. For more on Campo’s debut title, be sure to check out our review.
