Few could have predicted how well the community took to Psyonix’s Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars spiritual successor Rocket League when it first launched, with online servers effectively crippled in those first few days on the market. It’s a testimony to the quality of the game, then, that many are still expressing in the title despite its turbulent launch, and the studio is hoping to iron out many of the technical hiccups with the first major patch.

From trophy glitches to PS4 fan noise, the update itself is quite substantial, as Psyonix looks to double down on the performance of the game itself now that the servers have begun to stabilize. Over on Twitter, here’s what the studio had to share about the imminent patch.

“BTW, important fix coming in our next patch: Stat tracking for online games will properly record for their correlating Garage items. Another change in upcoming patch: Player’s Win/ Loss Ratio on the Stats page will now be displayed as a Win % instead (by popular demand).”

Ardent Rocket League players will know that it’s the Far, Far Away trophy – one which requires you to drive your automobile for 500km – that’s causing the most headaches, with Psyonix noting that the tracker is the source of the issue.

Beyond that, there’s also an easter egg buried within the racer, which references Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars by displaying it across the home screen. According to the studio, there are plenty of secrets yet to be discovered, so best get digging!

Pysonix is yet to nail down a release date for this major Rocket League patch, though we’ll be sure to update you when we learn more. In the meantime, check out our thoughts on the racer.
