Doesn’t it just look fantastic? Fallout 4‘s Pip-Boy edition is enough to get anyone’s nerd glands working, but if you haven’t already pre-ordered your copy – you’re probably already out of luck. Bethesda’s head of PR, Pete Hines, has taken to Twitter to inform fans of the edition’s extremely limited availability.
This last allocation was the final one to all stores in all territories. Each store is being given their final allotment. How and when they make them available is up to them. But no more are being made.
Rather than cite the reason for limited stock as being the company’s desire to make the Pip-Boy edition an exclusive collector’s item, Hines said that they just don’t own the facilities to produce a large quantity.
There are only so many we can make and maintain a level of quality. We don’t own our own factories.
You’d have to be pretty short-sighted not to expect Fallout 4‘s Pip-Boy edition to sell like hot cakes – the bundle comes with exclusive packaging for the game, a poster and – the real treat that’s making everyone rabid – a life-size Pip-Boy replica that can be paired with a smart phone to connect directly to the full game.
The bottleneck in regards to supply and demand is sure to see more than a few copies of the super-exclusive edition to show up on eBay for extortionate prices, but it might now be your only chance to snag a copy.
