As promised, Microsoft and 343 Industries will continue to support Halo 5: Guardians with free post-launch content over the next few months. And since we are now a month removed from the game’s launch, the studio has detailed some of the content that’s set to arrive.
Scheduled to launch in December, the Cartographer’s Gift update will bring a bundle of new features to the multiplayer world of Halo 5. Chief among the new additions to the gameĀ is the return of the popular Forge mode. Completely redesigned by the team at 343 Industries, the creation suite will be easier to use, while also giving designers plenty of new tools and objects to play around with.
Besides the improved Forge mode, Cartographer’s Gift will also include new maps and new armor and weapon REQs. The Battle of Noctus map will join the rotation in Warzone, while the Overgrowth map will become a staple in Arena. The new armor and weapon REQs weren’t specifically detailed, but I’m sure they will entice gamers into spending even more on microtransactions.
In addition to the update, it was revealed that the prize pool for the Halo 2016 World Championship has reached $2,000,000. While it hasn’t reached the heights of prize pools found in other competitive titles, $2 million is nothing to sneeze at.
While no specific release date has been announced yet, expect the Cartographer’s Gift update to launch for Halo 5: Guardians within the next few weeks.
