Microsoft, Electronic Arts, and Respawn Entertainment announced today that a rather hideous Titanfall–branded Xbox One controller will be released alongside the game on March 11, 2014 in North America and March 13 across Europe.
Selling for $64.99 on the Microsoft Store (a $5 premium over the standard, and sleeker, Xbox One pad), the style of the Titanfall Limited Edition Wireless Controller is said to have been “inspired by the C-101 carbine, used by the elite IMC Titan Pilots on the Frontier.” Additionally, the “color and graphics” of the patterns on the controller are so authentic that “it looks and feels like an artifact from the world of Titanfall.”
Microsoft suggests that you pre-order this “must-have” future “piece of gaming history” right now, because they are only being produced in limited quantities.
That is probably pretty solid advice. Even though Titanfall is a new IP, and none of us have even played the final game, it is sure to be a future classic worthy of a premium limited edition controller. After all, there is absolutely zero chance that Electronic Arts would ever push out a multiplayer-only title and have it be anything other than an amazing online experience.
