A High Voltage Software employee recently teased that the company has not forgotten about their Conduit IP, and will have a new announcement about the series before 2013.
This information comes from a High Voltage employee posting on the GameFAQS forums under the name HVSBob. The Conduit-related portion of the post, which was done in a faux interview style, reads:
Question: OMG I love Conduit so much!
Answer: That’s not a question, but thank you! And we haven’t forgotten about Conduit over here, either. I would expect some new Conduit-related news before the year is out.
While the actual content in both The Conduit and its sequel Conduit 2 ended up being extremely lackluster, High Voltage’s shooters did set the standard for how to properly implement the Wiimote’s IR pointer in the FPS genre. That may not sound all that thrilling, but the original title is notable for being the first game to prove the superiority of Nintendo’s controller over traditional dual analog for shooters.
This upcoming “new Conduit-related” news could be for either the third entry in the series on the Wii U, or the 3DS version that was last seen prior to the handheld’s launch.
We will keep an eye out for the announcement, and let you know as soon as High Voltage releases the details.
