Hitman: Episode 4 Available August 16, Takes Agent 47 To Bangkok

Well isn't this a unique way of announcing Hitman's fourth DLC episode? Opting to do away with the usual launch trailer of showing Agent 47 in a humorous disguise about to murder someone, developer IO Interactive has instead decided to release a music video (above) to celebrate.

Well isn’t this a unique way of announcing Hitman‘s next DLC episode? Opting to do away with the usual launch trailer showing Agent 47 in a humorous disguise about to murder someone, developer IO Interactive has instead decided to release a music video (above) to celebrate the August 16 release date for Episode 4: Bangkok.

So, uh, what’s the connection? According to IO’s own words, 47’s main targets this time around will be Jordan Cross, front man of “trending indie band” The Class and the family lawyer, Ken Morgan.

Read on for more details of Episode 4‘s setting: the Himmapan hotel.

The “Club 27” mission transports players to the opulence and splendour of the Himmapan luxury hotel and resort, situated on the Chao Phraya River outside Bangkok. Your targets are rising rock star Jordan Cross, front man of trending indie band The Class, and Cross’ family lawyer, Ken Morgan. Both are currently residing at the luxury hotel as the band finishes its highly-anticipated sophomore album.

IO says they wanted to do something really special with the follow-up to Marrakesh, and settling on a hotel setting was a no-brainer, as so many iconic missions from past games in the series have been set in such an establishment.

With episode four, we are extremely pleased to be able to deliver a new spin on a fan favourite type of destination. Hotels have been a staple across many a Hitman title. A huge amount of people in the community love learning everything there is to know about the intricacies of each hotel; and we thoroughly enjoy creating these wondrous assassination locations.

It’s hard to disagree: Hitman‘s opening Paris stage, set in a luxurious French building, also had several floors to explore, including small, unassuming rooms that contained hidden tools and weapons. If the upcoming Himmapan setting can expand on that, we could be looking at the best episode of the game to date.
