It seems like just a week ago we found out that Hitman had been delayed from this December to March 2016. While the release window was good to know, IO Interactive has now revealed that the latest adventure of Agent 47 will launch as a digital download on March 11, 2016. The title, which will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC, will also see a disc release at the end of 2016.

Despite the three month delay, IO Interactive is still sticking to the staggered content release strategy for Hitman. What this means is that when the title launches in March, only a handful of levels will be available. However, if you choose to purchase the full-priced version of the game, you’ll be entitled to free post-launch content, which is currently scheduled for April, May and June.

For those weary of the strange release pattern for the title though, the studio has announced that an Intro Pack will launch alongside the full-priced release. The pack, which carries a cost of $34.99, will only include the content that is available day 1. In order to gain access to future content, players will have to pay an additional $29.99 in order to upgrade their Intro Pack.

In order to explain the release strategy for Hitman, IO Interactive drew up this helpful infographic:

As you can see, the launch content for the title features six campaign missions set across Paris, Sapienza and Marrakesh. Weekly live challenges, as well as 800 targets for Agent 47 to take out in Contracts mode, will also be included with the day 1 content. The rest of the content, including trips to the USA and Japan, will follow in the months after launch.
