Following up on last week’s appropriately enigmatic tease, French developer Quantic Dream — creative minds behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls — has confirmed that Indigo Prophecy Remastered is now available on PC, Mac, Linux and mobile platforms.
Otherwise known as Fahrenheit in Europe, the supernatural-themed thriller originally launched exclusively on PlayStation 2 back in 2005. Now, exactly a decade later, the twisting tale of Lucas Kane is back sporting revamped visuals along with full controller support for those who wish to pick up the rerelease on PC.
Co-developed alongsideĀ Aspyr Media, Indigo Prophecy Remastered has been described as the uncensored version, given that several love scenes remained on the cutting room floor when the narrative-driven title released in North America a decade ago. In fact, Quantic Dream has confirmed via the game’s FAQ page that players will be able to switch between graphic modes seamlessly in the vein of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
And while players may be disappointed to learn that the remastered version won’t make its way to consoles, the studio has confirmed that mobile and tablet versions will be fitted with touch-screen controls — currently, the Android version isn’t available at the time of writing, but it’s expected to make its way onto app stores in the coming days.
For those who have never experienced Indigo Prophecy, the game orbits around a most peculiar murder mystery situated within a cold and dark night in New York City. Framed for murder, our protagonist Lucas soon finds himself in over his head, and discovers that there are things at work in his life that are simply beyond his control.
