During Square Enix’s E3 conference, new information was revealed for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Staff from Eidos Montreal took to the stage to discuss the way the world has changed in the time since Human Revolution, confirming that the game will be set two years after, in 2029.
As the Mankind Divided begins, players will find that augmented individuals have been outcasted by the world and are being forced to live in filthy, militarized ghettos in what was described as a “mechanical apartheid.” It was also confirmed that Adam Jensen will now be working with a division of Interpol, known as Task Force 29, investigating terrorist threats around the world.
Jensen’s life is far from simple, however, and he will also be working undercover with a group of hacking activists who believe that the intentions of Task Force 29 may not be quite as pure as they claim.
Bringing with it new weapons, new locations and a whole host of new political and ethical conflicts, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released in 2016.
