A leaked poster for Destiny 2 has found its way onto the internet, with the promotional artwork seemingly pegging the sequel’s release date for September 8. Appearing to have come from various retailers in Italy, the images were subsequently posted over on NeoGAF and also mention the existence of a pre-launch beta test. As always, do approach the leak with a pinch of salt – while the poster certainly looks genuine, there’s always the possibility that it’s an elaborate hoax, although I’m currently leaning toward the former.
It’s probably worth noting too, that the blue logo associated with games that feature exclusive content for PlayStation 4 is present in the upper right corner, so if this is genuine, it looks as if Sony will continue the partnership deal it had with Activision for the first game. Weapons, Strikes and other miscellany were included in the original Destiny as content that could only be obtained on PS4, although some of it has since been made accessible to those playing on Xbox One.
For now, that’s really all there is to report. The art featured on the poster itself doesn’t give much away as to story details, and it’s unclear whether the three individuals featured are actual characters or just representations of the player character’s Guardian. If any new details come to light, we’ll be sure to let you know.
In the meantime, Bungie’s currently putting the finishing touches on its final event for Destiny. See here for everything you need to know about Age of Triumph, which goes live next week, March 28 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
