Surprise! As part of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, the Big N announced that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which originally released for the Wii in 2011, will be available to download on the Wii U eShop before the end of the day. The critically acclaimed title is chronologically the first in the series and details how series villain Ganondorf came to be, as well as the origins of several different recurring motifs found throughout the land of Hyrule.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg as far as new Zelda news is concerned. Sadly, no new footage of next year’s Breath of the Wild was shown – due to the presentation being focused almost exclusive on new 3DS titles –  but Nintendo did reveal a slew of new Link amiibo that pay homage to his various incarnations.

8-Bit Link, Toon Link and Zelda, as well as Ocarina of Time‘s version of the green garb-clad hero are all due to be immortalized in plastic form, and they’ll all be available to buy from December 2.

As an added bonus, Nintendo says all four of the new figures will have some form of interaction with Breath of the Wild, although it’s not currently clear what benefits they will bestow.
