Following a successful digital launch earlier this year, Square Enix has announced that Life Is Strange will receive a Limited Edition retail release next year. The episodic adventure wrapped up its five chapter run back at the end of October.
Set to launch in both Standard and Limited Editions, Life Is Strange will be available as a physical release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Both sets will launch on January 16th in North America, and January 22nd in Europe. As one would figure, the Standard Edition is just the digital release on a disc, while the Limited Edition comes packed with a few additional goodies.
Priced at $39.99, $10 more than the standard release, the Limited Edition more than justifies the slight uptick in cost. Besides coming with all five chapters of the acclaimed release, it also comes packed with a 32 page artbook, director’s commentary, the Jonathan Morali score and the full soundtrack.
The digital-to-physical transition is still rarely seen, but Life Is Strange producer Luc Baghadoust explained why they chose re-release the title.
The response to Life is Strange really has blown us away! To be able to share that experience with our fans in a traditional boxed format is something we’re really excited about and the decision to include the extra items for the Limited Edition is a direct response to fan requests.
Tell us, are you interested in picking up Life Is Strange Limited Edition when it hits store shelves in January 2016? Or will you just be sticking with the previously released digital version?
