The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may be without an official release date at the time of writing – March 2017 seems to be the rumored window – but that hasn’t stopped Nintendo from drumming up excitement.

The latest info dump hails from the Big N’s Facebook feed, where it shared a rather quaint image of Link gazing over a beautiful Hyrule. It’s seemingly the first of many new images for Breath of the Wild, with Nintendo teasing that “now until the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, we’ll be exploring the Hyrulean landscape with new screenshots.” No further details were shared, but at the very least, those who follow Nintendo on social media (and you really should) can expect a steady stream of predictably stunning environmental shots to crop up on their respective news feeds over the coming months.

If it’s gameplay you’re after, NinEverything has uploaded an all-too-brief clip from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wherein Link careers down a mountain on his shield. And if that isn’t an joyous way to wish the Internet a ‘happy holidays!’, we don’t know what is.

Without a release date to call its own just yet, there is still much we don’t know regarding Link’s latest adventure – all we know for sure is that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will gallop onto Switch and Wii U in early 2017. Perhaps the Big N will choose to lock in an official release date at the upcoming Switch presentation? We’ll find out on January 13.
