Set to run though until November 29, the last-minute bout of testing will allow budding fans to dabble with the various gameplay mechanics, not to mention playing as attackers and defenders, before the tactical shooter makes its bow on December 1. Ubisoft notes that those who pre-ordered Siege will be able to jump in a day earlier on November 24, while all players will be able to pre-load the digital copy so that it’s ready to go from the get-go from November 23 onwards.

As for the contents of the Rainbow Six Siege open beta, users will be able to try their hand at 14 of the 20 available operators across multiple nationalities, and some of the early teaser trailers released for the game have showcased each counter-terrorism unit differs from one another. Both PvE and PvP modes are also available, while a trio of maps are included in the early build: Hereford, House and Kanal.

Lastly, today brings forth the first live-action trailer for Rainbow Six Siege, featuring Luther star Idris Elba barking orders. “Survival is earned through improvisation and destruction,” he says in the explosive sizzle reel, drawing attention to the game’s destructible environments.

Rainbow Six Siege will rappel onto consoles and PC on December 1.
